Monday Meet Me

I am linking up with The Teaching Tribune to introduce myself and get to know so more bloggers.

While many teachers are gearing up for summer rest I am preparing to coach beginning teachers who will be teaching in Chicago this summer. It's tough being away from home for seven weeks, but definitely worth it! The energy that teachers bring during the summer is contagious and for me time flies by...almost too fast. (I know it's forbidden to talk about summer flying by as a teacher).

I am staying in a dorm so I don't have access to a TV, which is good thing because I've been known to "binge" on HGTV or reality TV. I have caught the "Game of Thrones" bug so I am watching the show (on my iPad and reading the books! The books are so amazing that even though I know what is going to happen, it takes NOTHING away from the thrill of reading. George R.R. Martin is a genius! A few weeks ago I posted my summer bucket list and I have to say that I am well on my way to crossing a few things off. Summer in Chicago has gotten off to a fantastic start! Until we meet again...

June Currently

I am linking up with Farley for June Currently...Woot! Woot!
I am gearing up for a summer in Chicago so that is the ONLY thing on my mind. I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to partner with Chicago Public Schools and their Summerbridge program. That said, being away from home is TOUGH... to say the least! This is the most exciting time of my year though! I absolutely love coaching teachers and being vision driven, which will make up the majority of my summer.I would be crazy to not mention one important thing about Chicago, THE FOOD. I have made an internal promise to sample as many amazing restaurants as possible being that this is my last summer in Chicago. Lastly, my summer is hectic, but I have to take time to read. I love reading... duh, I taught reading. Even thought it'll be a long summer I want to prioritize reading a book, or three. I would say continuing with the Game of Thrones series, but that would be crazy ambitious. Instead, I'll set the mark at three "quick read" books.  If I have time I want to post as many Flash FREEBIES as I can. It's always better when it's free, right?
