What Happens in Vegas...

I made the trip to Vegas and have been flying high ever since. I'm linking up with A Burst of First to share my experience. When I registered for the conference a few months ago I knew two things. First, I had to make the trip quick. I was working in with a summer school program in Chicago and we were preparing for our final week, which meant I had to go and come right back. I arrived in Vegas 11pm Thursday, and left Friday at 10pm. The second thing was that I'd be making this trip alone. As a new TpTer and blogger my network is growing, but I was going to Vegas with just me, myself, and I. My biggest takeaway from the conference is that you are NEVER alone! #theTpTway

Big Takeaways
  • COLLABORATION IS KEY: The most amazing part of this trip was watching sellers connect with each other! At the opening event I sat at the table with Deidre (A Burst in First), Aris (Sailing Into Second), Jen (Teaching in the Tongrass), Molly (Lucky to Be in First), Vera (the Tutu Teacher), and few others I can't remember. Watching them interact gave me SO.MUCH.ENERGY. They were welcoming to me as the only person at the table who didn't have a connection to one of them, and it embodied the TPT way!
  • Marketing Matters: There were so many lessons learned, but I am going to share one from the session led by seller extraordinaire Erin Cobb. She discussed how to find your "magic" and the value of using data to track our progress. I joined TpT for fun and am grateful for the success I've experienced thus far, however, Erin's session reminded me of the importance of tracking and planning out my time. She gave out a CD that is chalked FULL of amazing resources. My favorite was the data tracker, which I printed and had bound.

Enjoy the Moment
As I mentioned I arrived by myself, but during a session turned around and spotted a teacher I worked with two years ago Elaine. Elaine was attending the conference with her mother. The two of them will be opening a TpT store soon (YAY!!) so they came to Vegas to soak up the knowledge in the room. Meeting up with them was timely because it was right before lunch and we had plenty of time to chat and catch up! As it turns out she has moved back to Jacksonville and will be working at the same school where we taught and where my boyfriend currently teaches. #bestnewsever We are scheduling time to work and play dates for our fur babies!

We also met up with some TpT celebs (hehehe). We jumped (or tried to) with Mrs. Jump, and chatted/joked with Paul, the founder of TpT who is charismatic, humble, and so approachable. Lastly, I met up with Amy Lemons, whose family blog I simply adore!

I'm counting down to the next conference! #TpTVegas2015 #Tminus357days
