Sailing Into Summer Blog Hop

I am linking up with some of my favorite secondary bloggers for a summer themed blog hop. It seems like this year has, flown by and now we are Sailing into Summer.

1. For Next year - This year I have been engulfed in the book Courageous Conversations About Race. Part of of my passion as an educator is equity in education. While some of the strategies and topics in the book are better than others. Something I have been thinking about is how to to keep my students and their family members "at the table" when it comes to "owning" their educational experience. I want to make sure that I am thinking about how where my students enter my classroom and how I can have a student centered classroom based on their needs. This is so much easier said than done, but I will remind  my to take #smallsteps, and get better daily.

2. To Change - Well, I've spent the last three years working full time with Teach For America. It's been an amazing journey that is changing...stay tuned :-)

3. Student Gifts - This is a category that is based on how the spirit leads me.  I like giving gifts to students that connect to our year and something I am interested in. Pop Rocks have A.L.W.A.Y.S been my favorite candy, I re-conceptualizing my approach to reading, and right now I am focused on drinking as much water as possible. Random, I know.A few ideas are captured below.

Stay tuned to my blog for an exciting announcement!  Until then, enjoy the FREEBIE below from my "End of the Year: A to Z Unit." Click {here} for this exclusive freebie, and sail into a relaxing summer!
